# Group Post Review

Require a Group Admin or Group Post Admin to approve new member posts or forum topics before the rest of the group can see them.

Post review lets a group's leaders approve new posts or forum topics from members before they are shared with the group. It works with both [Group Posts and Group Forum](/core-concepts/groups/group-posts.md) and is off by default.

### Turn On Post Review

**In the Admin:**

1. Go to **Groups** and select the group.
2. Open **Group Posts**.
3. Check **Require Review of Member Posts or Topics** and save.

**In the member web or mobile app:** Group Admins and Group Post Admins can open the group's **Settings**, then **Group Post Admin Settings**, and turn on **Require review before member posts are shared** (or **topics**, for forums). This option appears when members are allowed to create posts or topics.

### What Members See

When a member submits a new post or topic:

* They see a confirmation that it is awaiting review.
* The post shows a **Pending Review** badge and is visible only to the author and the group's reviewers.
* The author can still edit or delete it. Deleting it withdraws it from review.
* Other members don't see it, and no one can comment on or react to it until it's approved.

### Reviewing Posts

Group Admins, Group Post Admins, and account administrators who manage groups can review posts. Their own posts are shared right away without review.

Members whose posts need review cannot [schedule posts](/core-concepts/groups/scheduled-group-posts.md). In a group that requires review, only Group Admins and Group Post Admins can schedule.

1. Open the group. Posts waiting for approval are listed on the **Waiting Review** tab and marked **Requires Review**.
2. Edit the post first if it only needs a small change.
3. Choose **Accept** or **Not Approved**.

<table><thead><tr><th width="180">Decision</th><th>What happens</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Accept</strong></td><td>The post is shared with the group as the newest post, and members receive the usual new-post notifications. The author is notified that it was approved.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Not Approved</strong></td><td>The post is removed from the group, and the author is kindly notified that it wasn't approved.</td></tr></tbody></table>

### Notifications

Group Admins and Group Post Admins receive a mobile notification when a post is waiting for review. Members can turn these notifications on or off under **Groups** in their notification settings:

* **Group Posts Awaiting Review**
* **Group Post Approved**
* **Group Post Not Approved**

{% hint style="info" %}
Turning off post review does not publish posts that are already waiting. They remain pending until a reviewer accepts or declines them.
{% endhint %}
