# Group Video Calls

Hold live video and audio calls with members of a Lightpost group.

Group Video Calls give members a shared place for live video and audio conversations. Participants using either the member website or mobile app can see and hear one another, turn their own camera or microphone on and off, and follow the active speaker.

There is no meeting code or separate host. When the feature is enabled, each member joins the same call directly from the group in Lightpost. Calls support up to 30 participants by default. Contact Lightpost Support if your congregation needs a higher limit.

### Enable Group Video Calls

An administrator must enable video calls at both the account and group levels.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Video-call charges apply to the account. Enabling the feature does not create usage; charges are based on the time each participant is connected ($0.0013 per participant per minute — see the [pricing page](https://lightpost.app/pricing)).
{% endhint %}

#### 1. Enable Video Calls for the Account

1. Go to **Admin > Account Settings > Features**.
2. Enable **Groups - Enable Video Calls**.
3. Click **Save Changes**.

#### 2. Enable Video Calls for a Group

1. Go to **Admin > Groups** and select the group.
2. Open the group's **Settings** page.
3. Enable **Enable video calls** and save the group.

Group Admins can also turn video calls on or off from the group's **Admin Settings** in the member web or mobile app.

Only members of the group can join its call. An administrator who wants to join must also be a group member.

### Join a Call

In the member website or mobile app:

1. Open **Groups** and select the group.
2. Select **Video**.
3. Select **Join Video Call** and allow access to the camera and microphone when prompted.

On the web, members can choose **Camera on/off** and **Microphone on/off** before joining. Joining with both off doesn't require camera or microphone access.

The first member to join starts the call. Other members use the same **Video** option to join it.

### During a Call

On both web and mobile, participants can:

* See other participants through live video.
* Turn their own camera on or off.
* Mute or unmute their microphone.
* See when another participant's camera or microphone is off.
* Leave the call at any time.

The call highlights the active or most recent speaker while keeping other participants visible. On the web, participants can also select **Devices** to choose which camera or microphone to use. Their selections are remembered for future calls.

#### Share a Screen

From a supported desktop browser, select **Share Screen** to show a screen, application window, or browser tab to everyone in the call. This is useful for presentations, documents, training, or reviewing information together. Only one participant can share at a time.

Participants on both web and mobile can view the shared screen. Mobile participants can also open it full screen and use pinch, drag, or double-tap gestures to inspect it. Sharing a mobile device's screen is not currently supported.

{% hint style="info" %}
Before sharing, close or hide private information and choose only the window or tab the group needs to see.
{% endhint %}

### Video Call Charges

Charges accumulate as participants connect and are billed on your monthly invoice. To see charges that haven't been billed yet, go to **Admin > Account Settings > Billing** and open **Pending Usage Based Charges**.

### If Video Is Not Available

Confirm that both video-call settings are enabled and that the person is a member of the group. Mobile users should also install the latest version of the Lightpost app. If camera, microphone, or screen sharing does not work, review the browser or device permissions and try again.
