On-boarding Process

To begin your transfer, setup and on-boarding process, we'll need to consider and execute on the following steps:

1. Backup Your Current Site

When switching your website to Lightpost hosting, your existing site will no longer be accessible!

Reach out to support if you have structured data you are interested in trying to import. We can outline the format that the data needs to be in, and the import costs that will be associated with it.

2. Start Loading Content

A Lightpost Website is a self-managed website hosting option. Your website will be very empty until you start filling it with content!

You can begin this process before your website is live in the Website Admin section.

3. Choose Domain Management

If you would like to have Lightpost manage your domain on your behalf, be sure to follow the steps needed on our Domain Management information page.

Domain management is not required! But be sure to read about the advantages and reduced risk in using this option.

4. Update DNS Records

The final step is configuring your DNS records to point to Lightpost hosting.

This is the final and most important step in the process.
