Setup
Lightpost uses Stripe.com as the payment processor for online giving. To get started, follow the instructions below.
Special Notes
You create and own your own Stripe.com account for your congregation.
Your first payout will take 5-7 business days from your first transaction.
Payouts will happen on a rolling business day basis, unless you change this setting in Stripe.
Stripe fees apply for failed payments.
You are responsible for any and all fees from the payment processor.
Only giving via bank accounts are currently enabled and supported. If you need credit/debit card support, please let support know.
Setup Process
1. Create your Stripe.com account
To get started, navigate to the Online Giving section in Lightpost Admin: https://admin.lightpost.app/finance/giving
Click the "Connect with Stripe"
option to create your Stripe account, and connect Lightpost to your Stripe account to enable the ability for Lightpost to act on behalf of your new payment processor account.
Make sure to have all your congregation financial and legal information available for the full setup process.
After the account creation process, it should bring you back to Lightpost and Lightpost will be connected to your Stripe account.
2. Online Giving Settings
After setup, be sure to enable giving method types, and select if you'd like to enable automatic recurring giving.
